Välkommen till Hillandale! En 6 sovrum, 3 badrum bondgård ligger på 13 hektar med en vacker vårmatad damm. En perfekt plats för familjesamlingar, stora grupper som besöker de många bröllopsorterna i närheten, vinturer, cyklister som kommer från DC på W & OD-cykelleden och mer. Ursprungligen en mjölkbruksgård på 500 hektar, Hillandale behåller den ursprungliga kalvfågeln, rökhus, vårhus och andra uthus. Den ursprungliga tvårumsstenstrukturen i mitten av huset dateras till 1774, med tillägg läggas till över tiden. Som sådan har många rum mycket låga tak och dörröppningar - så långa folk snälla titta på ditt huvud! Det finns tillgång till Franklin Park, och det är vandringsleder och brudbana, land som ursprungligen tillhörde Hillandale tvärs över gatan. Downtown Purcellville med sina affärer, restauranger, hantverksbryggerier och destillerier ligger några minuter bort. Purcellville är också startpunkten för W & OD Trail, en cykelväg som går hela vägen till Washington, DC och är tidigare en tåglinje som transporterade mejeri från Hillandale till Vita huset på 1930-talet. I omgivningen finns många vingårdar, hantverksbryggerier och turistmål inklusive Appalachian Trail och Shenandoah River / Shenandoah National Park.

Stort utomhusutrymme (gott om utrymme för att spela fångst / frisbee) med en nybyggd 800 kvadratmeter sten uteplats på baksidan av huset med inbyggd propangrill och pizzaugn, tillräckligt med sittplatser för 30 + personer och en eldstaden. Gratis wifi hela. Riklig parkering i uppfarten.

Great Accommodations

Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful.

Hillandale Farmhouse

I was in town for a women's leadership conference and stayed in this VRBO with several others who were attending. We all loved the property and enjoyed sitting outside one evening on the large patio with lights. The check in process was extremely easy and the owner/manager was always very responsive. We had no issues during our stay. I also took a ton of photos and shared them on my social. We also had a complimentary bottle of wine in the refrigerator which was a nice surprise for our group.

Beautiful, Clean farmhouse

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely and comfortable farmhouse for a family wedding in the area. The house was spectacularly clean and well appointed. The back patio was huge and beautiful. There was plenty of parking for our family members and there were fun yard games available, though we didn’t have time to use them. Communication with the owners was spot on. We stayed there during a brutally hot weather weekend and were perfectly comfortable throughout the home due to the individual AC units in every room. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect in every way!

This property is amazing, and in many ways better than expected. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay is there. The house is charming and has some impressive updating to give you modern amenities with a farmhouse vibe. While we had enough beds for everyone without needing the sleeping porch, a few people opted to stay out there to enjoy the sounds of nature. Truly a great place to stay - many in our group said they would stay again!

Bride's family

A lovely and unique property, full of character. I wish time had allowed more use of the outside amenities, but we were gone much of the time. It's location to Bear's Den where the ceremony was held, and to Bluemont Station Brewery and Winery, where the after party took place was so convenient. I'm curious as to what the other improvements recently finished and in progress will bring? My guests were thrilled.

Awesome Property

We arrived and spent a nice evening on the beautiful stone patio enjoying a bottle of local wine. Our family arrived the flowing day in preparation of our son’s wedding! There were plenty of cozy bedrooms to choose from and everything was clean and quaint! Would highly recommend this home for a family event/getaway! The host was easy to communicate with and responded to my questions promptly! 5 Stars overall!

Wedding preparations

This was a really great place to stay and the owner accommodated all of our needs. We threw a bridal tea party in the kitchen and we also hosted a hair and makeup event the day of the wedding. The farmhouse had all the amenities to take care of our family and the kitchen is well stocked. I would book here again!!

Wonderful Experience!

This home hits on all notes. The property is charming and unique, it is very clean and WELL-EQUIPPED! There is not much you need to bring here and we found all the kitchen and bathroom supplies super handy on a busy wedding weekend. Robert was responsive and I'd highly recommend his property anyone looking for a stay in the area.

Hillandale Stay

We rented the Hillandale property because of the location near our son’s wedding. The house turned out to be a wonderful experience unto itself. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bottle of wine in the refrigerator was a very nice touch. We had 8 adults staying there and had plenty of space and enough bedrooms for everyone. The bathrooms were also very well done and large. We were able to use the outdoor pizza oven and that was fun and a first for us. The history of the house made it a special and unique experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time there.

Fabulous in every way!

We held a small family reunion and celebration at Hillandale and everything about the weekend was perfect! The outdoor areas were ideal for us to dine together but also break off into small groups. Loved the great blue heron on the pond. Wonderful kitchen. Cozy bedrooms and super bathrooms! Lovely aesthetics! On behalf of my entire family,, I couldn't recommend this venue enough!

Quaint and relaxing

We stayed for a long weekend with a group of women friends and loved the place! It was so quaint and historic and had all necessary amenities. The outside was so picturesque but also functional. Two cats on property joined our outdoor dining!

Roller-Swanson Wedding

Our daughter’s wedding was supposed to happen in the summer of 2020. We had secured Tranquility Farm for the wedding and had rented Hallandale as a place for us and some of our family to stay. Then COVID hit and we had to postpone the wedding until this year. Both Tranquility Farm and Mr. MacDonald worked with us and we we able to have the wedding last weekend. Tranquility Farm was an awesome place to hold the wedding and Hallandale was a great place for us to relax before and after the event. The house is very much what we expected from the vrbo description and the outdoor area is fantastic. There is also a large park across the road with a frisbee golf course and miles of trails to walk.

A step back in time

Historic charm with modern amenities!

Can’t say enough good things about this home. The historic charm of the 1774 house has been beautifully retained with great updates to the bathrooms and kitchens - and a HUGE outdoor patio. We loved our girls weekend at the house and appreciate all of the thoughtful touches of the owners. We will definitely come back!
