Chalet Bergheim - Unik, privat, ski-in / ski-out Swiss Mountain Chalet

Chalet Bergheim är en magisk, privat, ski-in / ski-out fjällchalet, byggd 1933 i traditionell walliser-stil träkonstruktion. Chalet renoverades 2014 och är möblerat med skräddarsydda, handgjorda möbler och naturliga material, men med alla funktioner du kan förvänta dig i en modern fjällstuga med gratis Wi-Fi i hela, bubbelpool och öppen spis. Stugan är helt omgiven av naturen med nästan inga grannar i sikte, och du behöver inte dela fastigheten med någon! Utanför finns en stor privat trädgård och terrass, med en vacker naturlig 8-personers cederträ, bubbelpool och grillutrustning, perfekt för att suga upp solskenet. Stugan säljs på självhushållsbasis men en cateringtjänst eller leverans av färsk mat kan finnas tillgänglig på begäran.

En av de enda fristående stugorna i Zermatt, chalet sover 6 vuxna bekvämt i 3 dubbelrum med 2 badrum (ett med separat bubbelpool med utsikt över Matterhorn). Med extra sängar är den maximala beläggningen 9 (max 7 vuxna, 1 barn och 1 bebis).

Chalet ligger i trädgränsen på 1750 meter och har utsikt över Zermatt hustak och ligger direkt på Sunegga-skistången och ger tillgång till de 450 kilometer pister som erbjuds av den mest kända semesterorten i Schweiz. Skidor hårt hela dagen, ta ett glas vin och sitta framför öppen spis eller njut av kvällssolen på terrassen med den majestätiska utsikten över Matterhorn, som för oss är den perfekta dagen.

Eller på sommaren, ta terrängcykeln upp till en fjällsjö för att simma, slå på enstaka spår på väg ner, gå en vandring i skogen och avsluta sedan dagen med korv på bbq och en drink eller två runt en lägereld i eldstaden.

Om du, som du, är kär i bergen och du uppskattar en fantastisk natur, ditt eget utrymme och en mängd fantastiska äventyr utanför dörren kommer du att bli kär i denna plats.

PLATS

Stugan ligger i ett fantastiskt läge ovanför byn Zermatt med dramatisk utsikt över den majestätiska Matterhorn. Tillräckligt långt borta för att känna avlägsen men tillräckligt nära för att komma åt de många bekvämligheter Zermatt har att erbjuda.

Zermatt är en bilfri by och därför är det inte möjligt med privatbil till fastigheten.

VIKTIGT I VINTER: På vintern är det bara möjligt att komma till fastigheten till inom 400 meter med taxi, och därefter måste du gå till fots på en förberedd vinterled (direkt tillgång med taxi möjligt på sommaren). Från staden till stugan är det en 20-25 minuters promenad uppför. Det finns dock en hiss under hissens öppettider vilket minskar upp- och gångtiden! Från skidpisten till stugan finns trappsteg. Före gästens ankomst rensar vi snöstegen och lägger grus. Om det finns snöfall kan det dock krävas snörensning under din vistelse. Om det inte finns tillräckligt med snö på pist bredvid huset är det 400 m promenad till en snösäker piste. På vintern finns det gratis bagageöverföring på lördagar 10:00 till 16:00 såvida inte mycket dåliga väderförhållanden. Därför måste du planera att vara i Zermatt senast 15:15 på ankomstdagen!

Most wonderful time at this charming chalet. It was truly an adventure. We learned so much about the European ski experience. Fantastic place to stay! We really felt at home in this chalet and could not have been more impressed with the amenities and the views. We took full advantage of the fireplace, the hot tub, the slide and the outdoor reclining chair. We even spent a rainy day cooking traditional Swiss recipes and playing board games. We could not have asked for anything more and really felt that this chalet was a huge player in our magical Swiss vacation!

Loved everything about it

Family of 5 travelling from the USA. Everything about Chalet Bergheim was perfect. The host is very responsive and accommodating. The Chalet is in excellent condition and in a beautiful location with excellent views. It has a very tasteful blend of modern amenities with the charm of a traditional Swiss Chalet. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, and we loved the escape from the business of Zermatt which is just a short hike away. I cannot wait to visit again and again.

Chalet Bergheim is a Treasure

While I have rented many properties over my life, seldom has a location so exceeded my expectations as did Chalet Bergheim over the course of the two weeks we spent there. The property was exceedingly quiet, but located just 15 minutes by foot from downtown Zermatt. There can be no better view of the Matterhorn from all the valley than that afforded by the deck at the front to the Chalet. The hot tub and the wood burning stove were excellent amenities and there is simply not a room in the chalet that does not have a breathtaking view of either the Matterhorn and associated peaks to the south or all the way to the Nesthorn in the north, across the Rhone. We had breakfast and Dinner every day on the Deck and spent the mornings and afternoons hiking the myriad trails into the surrounding high country. Simply stunning. We will certainly be back.

A wonderful find!

Chalet Bergheim is an absolute gem of a chalet. It is in a great location for ski in/ ski out skiing. The accommodation is excellent for two families sharing. The chalet is equipped to a high standard. The sun terrace is great to relax on after a days skiing with the incredible views of the Matterhorn. The living space is generous and the provision of a towelling robe for each guest a lovely touch. The whole booking experience was very easy as was arrival and departure. We loved the fact the chalet was so easy to ski back to at the end of the day - you do however need to be able ski down a red run to get to it. It is a slight walk to the village but we prefer to self cater so it didn't bother us and we loved the feeling of seclusion that the chalet had. I would highly recommend Chalet Bergheim to anyone - you are in for a real treat if you book it.

An absolute gem of a property in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

We had a most memorable summer visit to beautiful Zermatt and loved staying in Will and Amanda's Chalet Bergheim. The home was perfect in design, location, amenities and the host was very helpful. The views from this home are fantastic. You can view the Matterhorn from the dining room/living room and balcony along with the town of Zermatt below. You can hear church bells ringing, the nearby waterfalls, and the sheep with the bells they are wearing. We had read about Zermatt how touristy it is and that there are many other better places in Switzerland. I can only say that from our experience that after having been in many beautiful places throughout the world that Zermatt Switzerland is one of the nicest places we have ever visited and when we return (and we will) we would most defiantly stay at Chalet Bergheim. The property was very clean, had great kitchen small and large appliances, an incredibly beautiful master bathroom, very comfortable beds, and a spacious living room with smart tv. The hiking in Zermatt was fantastic and we enjoyed stopping a the many wonderful restaurants we discovered long our hiking routes. The location of the home was perfect - a 20 minute beautiful walk into town. We loved to be removed from the downtown area which had many wonderful shops and restaurants along with many visitors. We bought our groceries after our hikes at both Coop and Migros which had everything we needed and we put our groceries in our backpacks and enjoyed our walk back to our home - Chalet Bergheim. It truly felt like coming home after a wonderful day of hiking. We loved Chalet Bergheim and Zermatt and will be back. Thank you Will for one the most memorable weeks!

A special place

We stayed at this beautiful chalet for a week with young friends and their new baby. We thought it was perfect. The chalet is located above Zermatt with an unbelievable view of the Matterhorn. From the balconies we could hear the goats moving across the valley floor-a lovely tinkling of bells-and the chiming of church bells. The fact that cars are not permitted in Zermatt meant that the chalet felt as if we were in a very remote place. In fact a short walk downhill to the elevator opposite Cervo Hotel put us into Zermatt with only a short walk to restaurants and shopping and trains. The location was perfect and so was the house. We found it fully equipped (there was even a crib) and so much attention was given to the comfort of guests that the only thing we could find missing was a night light in the bathrooms. That was it! The beds were comfortable, the linens were nice, and the kitchen had everything. We only used the cedar hot tub a couple of times but wish we had used it more. We went off adventuring every day but came back to the chalet wondering why we had ever left. The view and the house were THAT good!! Tips for anyone lucky enough to come here: Be sure to stock up on groceries at the Coop across from the train station before hiring an electric taxi to carry you, luggage, food, and drink up to the chalet. Trips for small things are easily made using the elevator. Also be sure to stop at Cervo for a drink on the terrace. This is a fashionable place with a welcoming staff. Last tip: Be sure to not stop for a snack at Tufternalp in a meadow above the house though I do recommend reading the reviews on Trip Advisor for amusement. One reviewer said they stopped there is see if the staff were as bad as all that. The answer is yes! Go to Cervo instead or back to the chalet.

Umwerfendes Haus, perfekte Mischung zwischen alt und neu. Wundervolle Umgebung - "im Grünen" - und dennoch nahe beim Dorf (mit Taxi in 12 Minuten erreichbar, CHF 50). Wir wollten nicht mehr weg. ;)

We absolutely loved our stay here! The views were amazing! We would hike during the day and come back to a relaxing hot tub! The whole Chalet was very clean and the heated floors were great addition! Das Haus entsprach voll unseren Erwartungen, die Lage war allerdings für ein Familienmitglied nicht geeignet. Man konnte vorher die steile direkte Umgebung des Hauses nicht erkennen. Trotzdem gut erholt mit Haustier und Familie aus London, wunderbares Panorama, Sicht auf Matterhorn und Gletscher von der Terrasse, Schlafraum und Wohnraum.

Great Views

We had a lovely stay at Chalet Bergheim. Everything is listed in the PDF that Will provides upon booking, including the cost of taxis to get to the Chalet and the time to walk to town. While this is a ways above the town, during our summer trip the walk was only approximately 20 minutes to the locations we were interested in but we almost exclusively took taxis back. The actual property is just as wonderful and cozy as the pictures detail. Even in the summer, we enjoyed an evening rain storm with the balcony doors open overlooking the town.

Amazing Experience and Unforgettable View!

Will’s home was simply amazing. It had arguably the best view of the Matterhorn I’ve ever seen and the hot tub was the perfect place to enjoy it. The house was well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There was plenty of room to fit all my friends and all of our gear. The gear / ski storage room downstairs was an awesome plus. Highly recommended for groups!!

An Amazing stay in Zermatt.

The property was fantastic, we had a great family get away for a week. Great hiking and actually RELAXED at the house. Can not say one way to improve it at all. Will was great at getting back right away if we had any questions, and we felt at home. The house is so well equipped, we could not find anything else it needed. 20 years prior, and no kids, we stayed at a hotel in Zermatt, this was by far a better way to go. About a 15 - 20 min walk to city center, but well worth the additional steps to have the extra privacy and quiet. Our boys are 18 and 14 and they absolutely loved the house and everything about where we stayed. Very good wifi connectivity - incredibly important with kids. If you are going to Zermatt, and don't mind a bit of extra walking to ensure some privacy, stay here. You will be happy you did. The view from the master bedroom is phenomenal!!!!

We are a young family of mountain lovers living and working in Zurich but with our hearts in Zermatt. Originally from the UK, we have spent many years working abroad in Europe and Asia Pacific until we finally settled in the beautiful Switzerland. For us, no other country compares in terms of natural beauty, and Zermatt is the pinnacle.

After moving to Switzerland in 2010, we have been searching for the perfect mountain chalet to call home. We didn't want just any old house or town centre apartment, but a chalet with charm, charisma and character. We must have looked at nearly 50 properties before coming across Chalet Bergheim and falling in love instantly! It has the perfect balance of being able to get away from it all, but being close enough to town to enjoy the benefits of Zermatt. Plus it has all the essentials of log fire, ski-in/ski-out and large garden! Following the renovation work we have carried out over the last year, it also has a touch of understated luxury not often found in a mountain chalet. It really is an escape to the mountains.
