Historic Ramsay Retreat by Calgary Stampede

This stylishly newly renovated historic suite, built in 1915, offers a blend of vintage charm and modern luxury near the Calgary Stampede grounds. Amenities include 1G high-speed internet, streaming services, a fully equipped kitchen, queen bed, washer/dryer, and keyless entry. The decor features Alberta lakes and nature atmosphere. Located in the historic Ramsay neighborhood, it's close to local attractions and the Bow River pathway & Inglewood making it an ideal base for exploring Calgary.

The suite has been renovated to a more modern look and is fully furnished in a modern-day homage to the early 1900’s. Located on the 2nd level of the historic J. Nevler building in Ramsay and was constructed in 1915, it is an Edwardian Commercial style building. Jeremiah Nevler (the original owner), a Russian Jewish immigrant who lived in Calgary with his family. Nevler operated a grocery store in Bridgeland / Riverside before relocating his home and business to this address. He evidently left the City around 1923-24, and sold the building around 1928. Today it is named Hardware Block as it once held a hardware storefront but has been converted to living space.

The bedroom is very comfortable with a warm cozy duvet, a memory foam queen bed mattress, high end bedding and pillow options for your comfort. There is a privacy curtain with a blackout curtain in the room. For additional comfort we have a portable AC unit available in the summer and a small heater in the winter.

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook an amazing meal. The kitchen also comes with a choice of coffee and tea.


The bathroom also comes with everything you would need and more! Did you forget to pack something? We have you covered with a care bag which includes toothpaste, lotions, shampoo, conditioners, body wash, feminine hygiene products etc.


The living room features a sofa bed that folds out into a king sized bed that is suitable for smaller adults or for kids.


The Suite has laundry center within, located in the bathroom.

Let us know if you are travelling with an infant or small children. upon request we can accommodate with a pack and play that is safe for overnight sleeping.

There are several steps to the 2nd level after entering in the yellow side door, this suite is NOT suitable for people with mobility issues as you would have to walk up to the 2nd level.

The suite is in a historical building. Some noise transfer between suites is possible.

We keep our suite tidy and we also like to limit scents as possible. If you have any specific sensitivities or allergies please let us know in advance so we can determine if we can accommodate.

For coffee: We provide a tin coffee along with a coffee machine in the unit for your convenience. As part of our commitment to sustainable living, we've transitioned away from single-use cups. Instead, savor the rich aroma of ground coffee, provided for your convenience.

Our suite utilizes a noise and smoke monitoring device that monitors the level of noise, in addition to any unauthorized smoking or vaping.

*No smoking or vaping of any substances in suite and building. If smoking or vaping is detected there will be a $350 additional charge for cleaning.

*Possible unexpected noises and noise transfer due to age of the building and thin walls.

*Please take care of your own dishes prior to your checkout. Otherwise you will be charged for additional cleaning of $65.

For Pets, we charge $65 per pet per stay. Limited to two pets. No Cats. Dogs must be well behaved and trained.

There is a $350 penalty for unauthorized pets in the unit.

Very welcoming place

I had a great stay at this little welcoming apartment! The place has a feeling that the host really cares about his guests: clean nice looks like newly renovated place, plenty of towels, washer and dryer for a long stay - is a nice feature! Great location, many nice parks and good walks available for my spare time in the Bow Elbow rivers banks and parks. Close to Inglewood, Zoo and Science Centre. Easy check in. I would definitely stay again!

The most charming little apartment

What a great stay! The hosts were friendly and accommodating, there was plenty of parking, the neighbourhood was beautiful and the apartment was clean, bright, and adorable!Ramsay is a beautiful area and you’re walking distance to 9th Ave - Inglewood’s main shopping strip - so you can’t beat the location!The building is historic but the security has been updated so it feels really safe. The walls are a little thin which is to be expected and probably why the hosts have scheduled quiet hours. The inside staircase to access the apartment is a little steep so just be careful if you have heavy stuff or mobility concerns (no elevator).Myself, my partner, and our dog had a wonderful stay here for the week and would happily stay again!
