Lovely cottage in quiet location.

Lovely cottage in quiet location. Comfortable and well equipped for two. Hosts Dennis & Caroline were both welcoming and friendly. Can't fault the accomodation at all. Good place to stay for those who wish to explore the Ayrshire coast or local golf course.

We recently stayed at The Cottage for a week, this was a very enjoyable stay.

We recently stayed at The Cottage for a week, this was a very enjoyable stay. The Cottage is very spacious, has a lovely enclosed garden (which was required for our dog), and a wood/coal fire facility.The owners were very helpful and friendly....just the right amount of contact. It was enjoyable seeing the animals on the farm and the lovely countryside all around.The very well equipped kitchen is excellent for home cooking. We enjoyed bramble picking and made a crumble with them and some of the farms apples.The beds are also very comfortable.We have only marked Girvan down for amenities as there is nowhere to have a bar lunch although lots of cafes. A very good Indian (Yasmins) and fish and chips (Grazianos). Lots of lovely gift shops and of course a beautiful beach.We would definately book again.

Lovely house in a great location.

Lovely house in a great location. All rooms well equipped and very comfortable. Great location within easy reach of other towns and villages from Troon down to Portpatrick. Hosts were very helpful.Don't miss opportunity to visit Culzean Castle and, close by, experience the phenomenon of Electric Brae.

Great location,sea view to the front of the property, rolling hills and countryside to the rear.Nearest shops 10 minute drive away.The property itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay.Some reviews commented that it could do with an upgrade but as it is it has its own quirky charm and character.The owner was very helpful and is only a phonecall away if any problems arise.Overall Braemar is the Ideal place to stay if you want to get away from it all and just relax.Pet friendly too, your dog will love it!

Weekend getaway to Galloway and Dumfries

Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful.
