Put Turtle Cottage on your bucket list !!!

If Turtle Cottage is available for your dates- Don’t Hesitate to Book! If the cottage is not available - Change your dates! Yes, it is that good , the panoramic view of the ocean - different hues of blue, turquoise and purple, stretching away until the far horizon- and the immediacy of the waves crashing into the cliffs below, make this a unique experience, a treat for the senses! Then there’s the terrace, shaded and spacious and overlooking the ocean, where we relaxed, played cards, had breakfast and dined on occasions. Waking up to the sunrise and the view from the bedroom is a truly memorable experience! We had sole use of the pool in the really pretty and well cared for garden, surrounded by varieties of cactus and coconut palms, their fan like branches blowing in the breeze. Then there’s Pat the host, nothing is too much trouble for her, lifts willingly offered on our anniversary and last night to fine dining restaurants of our choice - Champers and Le Shack were our favourites- a visit for dinner to her friend’s restaurant by the ocean was very enjoyable. And lastly… the turtles, 17 of them, friendly and easy to pat, feed and watch ! A truly memorable stay and we are really sad to leave, Thanks Pat and Turtle Cottage for making our stay so immensely enjoyable - really hope we can visit again !

Stunning Views and aspect

Lovely little well appointed cottage with stunning ocean views. Pretty gardens with an abundance of turtles to keep you entertained! The host, Pat, is a force of nature and her sole purpose is to ensure her guests have the best holiday experience they can. She is a mine of useful information about things to see and places to go including excellent restaurant suggestions. We would return to this lovely island and gorgeous cottage in a heartbeat, hopefully see you again Pat!!

Fantastic location

We had a lovely stay at Turtle Cottage. The view over the ocean from the terrace is a definite WOW. The house is Caribbean in style but is comfortable and very well equipped as a home away from home, enabling you to cater for yourselves easily. The pool is great and a welcome respite from the heat. Pat is a fantastic host, and goes out of her way to make you comfortable and make you feel very welcome. We rented a car and Pat sorted out all the arrangements. A car is definitely recommended to get around the island and go shopping to supermarkets and the great fish market at Oistins.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time at Turtle Cottage, and could not recommend it more. There is ample space for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 10 and 6 years), with all the amenities one would want. The views are spectacular, and the swimming pool absolutely wonderful. Pat was a super host, and all of her recommendations were things to do and see on the island were fantastic. She made us feel very much at home, and even booked restaurants for us and catamaran trips, which we very much enjoyed. We hope to come back soon!

Fantastic place to stay with stunning views

We stayed at Turtle cottage for 2 weeks everything about the cottage is charming and authentic We took in the views of the sea and the garden the sound of the ocean was amazing to wake up to every morning on the balcony. Within the garden, we had seen over 11 tortoises just wandering around the stunning garden grounds which was just beautiful. Also, we eaten well and felt completely rested just what was needed. Pat is an amazing lady and was so helpful advising us on local things of interest, restaurants and places to visit she had even arranged a catamaran boat trip for us which was an amazing experience and not to be missed. If you want somewhere to stay this place offers relaxing with beautiful views then look no further this is truly beautiful place to stay. We have recommended this property to all our friends and family. Thank you Pat, for making our holiday an amazing and memorable experience for us. We will hopefully returning back again this year 2017 see you soon Pat?

Just fantastic

This was such a fantastic holiday rental. I cannot recommend it enough and will return. The cottage is utterly delightful set in the most lovely garden overlooking the sea. Everything about the cottage is charming and authentic. Pat is so helpful advising on local things of interest, restaurants and places to visit. I slept well in the cottage, eat well and felt completely rested. I will be telling friends to visit. If you want somewhere to stay that is relaxing, beautiful, well positioned and well appointed this is the place for you. Thank you Pat for a fantastic two weeks. I will return.

Holiday in Paradise

We were lucky enough to stay at Turtle cottage for 2 weeks and it completely exceeded all of our expectations. The property and location are just as stunning and idyllic as they look, and we can't speak highly enough of Pat. She couldn't have been more helpful with local knowledge and advice, and despite being our first time in Barbados, she helped make us feel like knowledgeable travellers instead of bungling tourists. We have have recommended this property to all of our friends and family - and to anyone else who would listen. Thanks again, Pat. Miriam & Craig

Photos don't do justice ...and away from the crowd

Almost speechless when I woke up in the morning and went onto the balcony and took in the view of the sea and garden, the smell of the sea, the sound of the ocean, the cottage and garden is a sensory heaven. I wanted a few days "switch off" from phones and TV and laptops and other people and I found all of these in spades. I'm still recovering from the shock of leaving and arriving back here. If you want to get away from all of the crap of life in the rat race then get over here, you don't need a therapist any more, just sit on the deck, face the sea and sky and feel the breeze and relax and relax. It's taken me this long to write ths but time flies back on the hamster wheel! from Dominic Paxton and partner, UK.

Idyllic

We spent the most idyllic week at Turtle Cottage with our toddler son. What a wonderful, tranquil spot, and such stunning views. Not many things can beat breakfast on a sunny veranda listening to the waves below and watching the resident turtles waking up. Thank you Pat for your warm and natural hospitality - you and the cottage both come HIGHLY recommended.

BEST HOLIDAY I'VE EVER HAD.

This place is absolutely incredible. We had a group of 4 people (late 20's/early 30's) staying here, and it was perfect. Amazing views, super clean, and everything you need to feel at home. Pat, you were absolutely the best host we could have hoped for. Your endless tips and directions were greatly appreciated! You made us feel welcome and comfortable within seconds of arriving. The cottage is close to everything you need (which for us was basically food, beer and rum) The best part for me was the tortoises that live on the property. What a cool experience to be able to hang out in paradise with a bunch of friendly tortoises!! Like nothing I have ever experienced before. Super clean pool and deck that we took full advantage of! There is plenty of cookware, towels, games, etc. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Pat also fully arranged a catamaran ride for us. That was a day I will never forget. Thank you so much Pat for your generosity. We will most definitely return... Hopefully as soon as possible! xo Jenna

Heaven on Earth

If you want a wonderful, relaxing, get-away-from-it-all holiday in the sun you won't beat this fantastic traditional Barbados cottage. We spent 3 weeks here and did not want to leave. The cottage has all mod-cons, a lovely garden, and a superb verandah and sun-terrace directly overlooking the sea. A steady gentle easterly breeze keeps the temperature comfortable. It is secluded but conveniently located for the airport, and in the best and quietest corner of this beautiful island. Barbados is about the size of the Isle of Wight so everywhere is within easy reach. We have stayed in Turtle Cottage several times over the last few years and would not want to stay anywhere else in Barbados. Pat is the best hostess one could wish for and goes a long way to making a holiday perfect. We look forward to staying at Turtle Cottage again. Everytime we go back Pat has made more improvements to her little bit of heaven. We cannot recommend this whole package highly enough, thank you Pat for a wonderful holiday.

A little piece of paradise on a beautiful island

We stayed at Turtle Cottage for just over 2 weeks.... 4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults...it was an amazing stay. So different from the west coast which although great to visit, wouldn't be our bag! Too commercial! The little house is small but perfectly formed, the outside space is fantastic, some shaded , some full sun...al day. We were mesmerised by the whistling frogs, who we went looking for at night, to the fireflies dancing in the palms. Although there is no air conditioning ( I can't stand it as I am asthmatic) there is a constant breeze, so a natural relief from the heat. The house is fully furnished in a gorgeous, eclectic mix of Bajan and beach style. The BBQ allowed us to pick up and cook great meals and the Bajan cook book we found in the piles of books available , we have since bought from amazon! It is a peaceful, private, safe and beautiful spot. The local beaches are awe inspiring and a car to explore was a good choice! Pat is an amazing lady, she organised a cruise on a catamaran for my sons 6 th birthday...we spent a great day with the family and pat and a couple of her friends, swimming with turtles, drinking rum, beer and eating a great lunch aboard! Pat is a font of island knowledge and a fabulous host. If we could afford to return each year, we would have no hesitation! It was a paradise holiday that ended too quickly! Highly recommended for singles, couple and families alike! But most of all, it's recommended for those that wNt to appreciTe what island life is really like...chilled, stress free with an amazing view!!!! Thank you

Unbelievable Piece of Paradise!

My husband and I have been to Barbados several times and we have just found a new favorite spot. Turtle Point is tucked away from the hustle and bustle with amazing views and the sound of the ocean will definitely lull you into relaxation. This is the perfect spot to unwind, and get away from it all! The cottage is exactly what you would expect from a cozy Caribbean cottage, from the wooden shutters and bright interior, to the amazing views of the ocean! We ate every meal outside on the veranda and sipped our morning coffee while watching the sunrise. You will definitely need to rent a car if you want to enjoy the great beaches of Barbados and do some sight seeing. Pat, the owner, is wonderful!! I can't say enough about her hospitality and exceptional customer service, from picking us up at the airport to providing great tips about what to see and do on the island. She recommended a fantastic excursion on board a Catamaran, where we had a fun-filled day, sailing and snorkeling with sea turtles. I would recommend Pat and Turtle Point to anyone that is looking for a beautiful, relaxing vacation.

A paradise on a cliff

A perfect spot for a relaxing holiday on the sea, surrounded by nature, secluded and serene with an astonishing view over the endless ocean. We just spent the most relaxing two weeks there. The pictures and description on the website were very accurate. The cottage is very clean and spacious with two main rooms (living room and master bedroom) opening right onto the patio overlooking the ocean. The cottage has everything one needs for a comfortable stay, we only needed to bring our clothes. Doors and windows with shutters allowed proper ventilation even on very hot days and allowed us to fully enjoy the sounds of nature, the waves breaking on the rocky beach below, the birds during the day and the frogs at night. It was like living as close as possible to nature but in the comfort of a home. There were also 18 tortoise in the garden surrounding the cottage which were fun to watch and feed. We loved spending mornings in the sun on the deck and going for a dip in the pool next door where Pat lives, the cottage owner and a lovely lady with a great sense of humor. We enjoyed chatting with her and she was very helpful in getting us oriented to plan our visit to the island. The beaches were a short drive away, our favorite one was Miami beach. Many sea sports can be practiced on the coast nearby the cottage. We enjoyed snorkeling with the sea turtles and scuba diving on the West coast. Bathsheba is a must see, spectacular coast line on the East side of the island, about half hour drive from the cottage. Don't miss a visit to the Concorde centre if you love airplanes! It's just 5 min away from the cottage. There are several restaurants in the area, Crane Hotel, Silver Sands and in Oistins, however we enjoyed cooking at the cottage most of the times as we had all facilities there and it was hard to beat the gorgeous view on the deck. We would highly recommend this lovely cottage to our friends and family.

Sound of waves on the rocks below the cliffs ...

We (family of 4) stayed at Turtle Cottage for an all too short 7 days from mid October 2011 ...my break from London's rat race was so desperately needed, I thought relaxation on such a physical and mental level was impossible to hope for ... so I chose a place where at least we could hide from it all, especially the standard holiday fare of tourists on beaches and forever in your view. The cottage is simple but elegant. It has all that you need, (the kids used the Wifi) yet it is compact and natural. We quickly felt at one with the location and the salty fresh sea air filled your whole being. We lived on the wooden verandah, bought fresh fish from local Oistins Town market, grilled it BBQ style, drank coconut water by the litre and reminded ourselves what relaxation was really about and then ... lost track of time. The ocean waves below the cliffs can be heard day and night, this is the place where you rediscover your senses after you realise that city life has wiped them out; here, you win them back. Assuredly, the most effective antidote possible from the grinding effects of commuting up to town and your average adults 8 to 6 work life, plus the memories for the teenagers was that we holidayed as a family and had fun! We all used the cottages pool and swam every day, we rented a car to get around and have discovery tours, and the owner was so helpful in guiding us on trips to the rest of the Island. Cost? this was a bargain!

An amazing stay and experience

If you are looking for the opportunity to truly relax during your stay in Barbados, this is the place. Turtle Cottage has the unique quality that makes you want to just hang out and not be in a rush to start your day. Every morning we just wanted to get up to see the sunrise over the ocean, take a morning swing in the pool, or just wait for Tom the ginger cat to pay us a visit while hanging out enjoying a coffee. This was the perfect place for us… very rustic with a lot of island personality in St. Philip. Pat was not there to meet us but Clare was and did an amazing job showing us around. We would not hesitate to come back to this amazing spot. What we liked a lot about Turtle Cottage…The privacyThe morning sunriseThe views over the oceanThe poolThe tortoises and Tom the CatThe openness of the placeThe simple quality of the placeThe verandaThe gardensVery close to the airportVery close to CuttersVery close to SunLife Juice & Smoothie SpotVery close to some amazing beachesWhat we liked as well BUT what you might not like as much:No AC in the bedroomsNo glass in the windowsThe absolute need of a carTom the cat

A true oasis away from the crowds but close to everything.

Stunning cliff top cottage, private pool, insane views. The morning sunrise and moon at night, with fireflies - very very tough to beat Turtle cottage. Pat is lovely and very attentive. The right amount of care and privacy by this property owner. We’ve stayed in numerous cottage rentals in the Caribbean and this takes the cake. Thanks Pat!Note- car rental mandatory.

Stunning views and the perfect peaceful getawY

We loved our stay. The views and place were both breathtaking. Our hosts, Carol and Tony were so gracious and helpful. Plus, we were kept company by the beautiful wildlife- turtles, kitty cats, and tons of lovely birds. The outdoor areas including the pool were also lovely. We didnt rent a vehicle (not quite comfortable driving on the other side of the road) but we found 2 incredible drivers for touring us around the island. A favorite was Carlyle Bay. At any rate, our overall experience was perfect.

Beautiful property but poor communication with owner

Turtle cottage is in an amazing location on top of a cliff and the cottage itself was just beautiful in a funky boho way….like a little art gallery. We loved the turtles and that the owner is involved in animal rescue. The couple who were staying at the owners house and overseeing things (Carol and Tony) were wonderful and couldn’t have been more helpful. However…. From the beginning of booking the cottage Pat the owner was very sporadic with her responses, half the time just not responding at all. We were a bit concerned and as we were already on the island we tried to find the place to make sure it existed. Well the VRBO map sent us to an empty lot! That evening I spent lots of time with VRBO support as I was sure we had been scammed, especially in light of the lack of response from owner. By the next day VRBO had been able to contact the owner (visiting the UK) and she did communicate with me and gave me contact details of the people staying and looking after the place. We were able to sort out the location and I was relieved to find the place did actually exist! Between the poor communication from owner and the incorrect map co-ordinates from VRBO the lead up to our stay here was very stressful! In all I would recommend this place but be prepared for some potential difficulties with communication and finding it!

Beautiful view

We were not equipped for the mosquitos. I believe there was more rain than typical and we couldn’t get away from them. We are not a tiny couple and we are not a huge couple. We struggled with the bed and actually dreaded going to sleep at night. If the net laid on your skin at all you would be bitten to death. We couldn’t get away from each other as the bed is small and we were also quite warm. There are however, two beds. Just wanted everyone to take the mosquitos seriously. It will ruin your trip. Breathtaking views and an absolutely wonderful pool! We certainly enjoyed our English friends Tony and Carol!

Turtle Cottage a True Hidden Gem

Turtle Cottage in Barbados was a true hidden Gem. We had great communication with the owner (Pat) from beginning to end. Even though our flight didn't arrive until 3:00 am she was still there. She was even there when we departed. Great Hostess. The cottage is perfect for two people looking to just relax and take in the beautiful ocean/cliff view. Even though the cottage did not have any AC, the breeze kept it comfortable. The surrounding gardens and pool area is well maintained. Enjoyed seeing Pat's turtles walking around. The cottage is well stocked with kitchen needs. The closet grocery store is about a 15 min walk, however, it's very small and limited. If you are looking for a place just to Chill then Turtle Cottage is for you.

Bright, airy, eclectic decor. Stunning views from the very large deck. A lovely cottage with a good sized, private pool for your use only. Beautiful gardens with 17 tortoises, hummingbirds and more. A very unique place to be. Pat was always available and a pleasure to know. There’s a Trimart grocery store within a 15 minute walk and a Stoutes car rental nearby.

Tropical Garden Paradise, With a Private Pool!

Hard to tear yourself away from this delightful bungalow. The perch is perfectly situated to fully take in the ocean and the pool is surrounded by stunning local plant life. Owner Pat is super helpful and right next door to provide advice on near-by activities and restaurants. We even got to watch a spraying display from a slow-moving pod of whales. This is for those seeking a bit more authentic vacation rather than a high-end luxury vacation. One watch-out, there is no glass in the windows, so you may have mosquitoes, altho Pat had a variety of methods to deal with them.
